Founder and Producer
John Edwards has produced more than 600 hours of television drama. His productions have won 29 Logie Awards, 40 AFI and AACTA Awards, 8 ASTRA Awards, and a number of international awards, as well as being the only Australian television producer nominated for the Golden Globe Awards.
His television credits include Romper Stomper, Blue Murder: Killer Cop, The Beautiful Lie, Gallipoli, Puberty Blues, Offspring, Tangle, Dangerous, Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War, Rush, Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo, Spirited, Beaconsfield, Love My Way, Marking Time, The Surgeon, The Secret Life of Us, On The Beach and Police Rescue.
In 2011, he was conferred an Honorary Masters degree by the Australian Film Television and Radio School. In 2016, he joined forces with Dan Edwards and Roadshow Films to form the production entity Roadshow Rough Diamond; responsible for the latest TV series of Romper Stomper (premiered in early 2018).
John was appointed as a member of the Order of Australia in 2017. He was recognised for his vast contribution to the Australian TV Industry through developing and telling great Australian stories.
Founder and Producer
Dan Edwards is a television executive with almost two decades of industry experience. In 2016 Dan joined forces with his father John Edwards and Roadshow Films to form Roadshow Rough Diamond.
Les Norton is the third Roadshow Rough Diamond project, following on from 2018 productions Australian Gangster for the Seven Network, and Romper Stomper, which broke viewing records for Australian SVOD service Stan, winning two Logie awards. Both Australian Gangster and Romper Stomper were co-created and produced by Dan.
Prior to launching Roadshow Rough Diamond, he was Vice President (ANZ/Japan) at ITV Studios Global Entertainment. Also in the Asian market, Dan spearheaded the 2009 set up of Endemol Worldwide Distribution’s office in Hong Kong following the merger with Southern Star where Dan was a Sales Director for seven years across Canada, Middle East, Africa, Greece and Asia.
He has created and developed fifteen projects in concert with Australian and international broadcasters.
Jessica joined as Development Executive after working across the Rough Diamond slate, including being part of the Les Norton writing team. She has written and developed new work for stage, TV, film, online and radio for 15 years, and brings her experience in corporate communication and strategy from the public and private sectors.
With a background in theatre, Jess has worked for Sydney Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre, Darwin Festival, Bell Shakespeare, Australian Theatre for Young People, NIDA and various independent venues and festivals, focussing on the development of new Australian works. She studied theatre directing at NIDA, screenwriting at AFTRS and holds a Master of Creative Writing and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Sydney.
Before joining Rough Diamond, Jess worked in story development and production roles with Blink TV, Beyond Entertainment, Essential Media and Entertainment and on independent feature films.
